thinking of using the new kallax shelving (which replaced the precious expedit shelving at ikea) in my living/dining/office area. I could turn it on its side, place it 2-deep and make a big cushion to lay over the top as my ~30" x 4'-9" seating bench. bench height is 16-1/2" tall so I need a cushion that is 2-3" high to get this to a good height for sitting up and working.
with it being two deep that will give me space to store longer things like...wrapping paper rolls.
Width: 16 1/2 "
Depth: 15 3/8 "
Height: 57 7/8 "

then I would place this upright at the end of the bench and could put a couple file boxes in it, see next picture. openings fit 13" square boxes.

maybe a pouf like this to use as a footrest or extra seating if I have a dinner guest.
17"H x 16"W x 16"D
17"H x 16"W x 16"D
work surface/dining table would need to be about 24" x 18" and about 24" high so legs could fit underneath.
I currently have this laptop table but I think the size is a little too small to function as both work surface and dining table, plus it's a little too tall I think (at least it's too high for using w/ my current couch).
18"W x 14"D x 26"H, 18 lbs.

but the oversized version might work!
24"W x 16"D x 26"H, 30 lbs
although 30 pounds sounds awfully heavy for a small table but I guess I wouldn't be moving it around very much...
