I have reached my first real stumbling block: how to treat my wastewater if I won't have access to sewer or septic system. I have two probable locations for my tiny home to reside and neither of them will provide sewer or septic access. I'd been thinking that since I will use a composting toilet that everything else will be greywater so I could just basically use biodegradable soaps etc. and then discharge all wastewater outside. However I was just reminded that kitchen sink discharge is also considered blackwater so I think this could prevent me from discharging it outside just into the ground. I am seeing something about an aerobic treatment system but apparently they cost $3-10K just to purchase, then the energy costs are high b/c it requires a pump that is constantly running. am I just overthinking this--how to other tiny-housers handle this? I can't be the first tiny-houser to want to set up shop somewhere withou
